Ha! I totally got my computer. I have to fire it up (so to speak) and make sure the data's still there, but it looks fine from the outside. I also found all my course material in the original word documents stored on a thumb drive, thank the spirits. Life is good.

If I may suggest, consider making 2 backups of all your magic files somewhere. held in a disaster proof lock box or safety deposit box in different locations.
I value my proliferious collection of notes and other data more than any other household property I own!
If asked wether or not id rather get punched in the face or loose my external HD I would hesitate and probably choose the first.
But then I dont have the support of so many spirits happy bastard. :)
