I think what you said about Christians ...Good post. I think what you said about Christians fearing persecution going back to the Roman times is very true. The Lion is a very powerful symbol in that regard - its the Royal Beast 666 of the Sun and the Individual, as well as the steed of Ishtar/Astaroth - the sacred whore of Babylon. The Lion is also the symbol of the tribe of Judah, and one of the Four Holy Creatures. I think the whole sign of Leo represents something that is a big challenge for Christians and has been from the beginning.<br /><br />I also totally agree with you about the desire for apocalypse you can see in some of those preachers. Its really sad; they must be in so much pain to wish and long for such widespread devastation and destruction. Mass death - mass transformation - the powers of Pluto and the Crown, but turned to poison. I think this longing is what led to Christians adopting and elaborating ideas about hell and damnation as well. I read way back that "Saint" Jerome was known for getting that exact same "glaze" you talked about and going off about how happy it was going to make him to watch his opponents burn.<br /><br />"All Fire is One Fire. By mid-Friday, I had decided that it was probably not me that caused the explosion. A friend of mine has a theory that they are upset because I ma living my life the way I want to live it, and not in the manner we were raised to believe. And so it goes.Morgan Drake Ecksteinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09258538066497554895noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25882546.post-29379532308086085362009-08-23T13:57:52.997-04:002009-08-23T13:57:52.997-04:00It also satisfies a narrative need. So we fantasize enemies and world-ending scenarios to help give our lives narrative shape.Patrickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15116457279748716082noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25882546.post-80029813608531704612009-08-23T12:14:15.196-04:002009-08-23T12:14:15.196-04:00Well said. I think another issue with the fear/persecution/anger loop, and those who exist within it, is an addiction to the adrenaline rush that the loop provides and feeds. It gives the sensation of power without the responsibility.Lavanahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14295089071497942411noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25882546.post-74507040087217141902009-08-23T11:18:37.824-04:002009-08-23T11:18:37.824-04:00"Fear of the 'others' is a tool used ..."Fear of the 'others' is a tool used to keep groups separated from one another."
