How bout dem O's?

Just got back from an awesome game. The O's beat the Angels 9-7. I was scared the last few innings, but we ended up on top. There was one Angel's fan in our section yelling for her team, and my son "Booed" her with conviction every time she cheered! She and her date got a kick out of it, fortunately enough. He was a big fella, and I still haven't mastered shooting fireballs out of my fingertips. Lightning's coming along nicely though. If I shuffle my feet enough, look out man! ZOT!

There are a lot of baseball metaphors for the Great Work, but seriously? I had a blast watching the home team play like they were pros, eating peanuts and drinking lemonade with my kid. There's something to be said for having a nice, normal, non-fringe belief system social experience...

Thinking now of the kids in face paint and sprayed orange mohawks...

Dude, everything I enjoy involves fanatical freaks! Everything.

  1. Speaking of Baseball and the work, what is your opinion of the Baseball Tarot?

  2. @Morgan - I never heard of it. I suppose there are people who could use any kind of imagery to get accurate readings, based on what I've seen in the spheres. If the spirits of divination can commune with the "reader" through the symbols at hand, that's all that matters, right?

But I have my own prejudices, and the tarot of the cat people was enough for me. I'm a Rider-Waite traditionalist, with Toth deck tendencies, but that's about it for me. The hoke factor (how hokey is it?) runs pretty high in a lot of the themed tarot decks I've seen. Enochian tarot was the worst, imho. The Witches' tarot, and the Arthurian tarot pop to mind when I think of silly decks.

    Baseball tarot?

My opinion is it sounds pretty stupid. But the magician in me recognizes that as long as the results are accurate, who cares what it looks like?

  3. Oh God. Is this a bad time to mention that I bought a Buffy The Vampire themed ouija board on Amazon earlier this year?

I'm not even lying. That's what's so shameful.

On the plus side, it works a treat.

    Sigh.
