The Occupation and the Tea Party Explained

For those who have not yet looked at what's going on politically in America from a spiritual perspective, from a firm foundation of history, here's a simple graphic explaining it all as clearly as I can:

They're both movements primarily started by the wealthy elite. Adbusters started the OWS, and they've got a long term agenda planned for it. It starts seemingly seemingly at random, but then it starts putting out a cohesive message. They've already talked about it here:
"Down the road, there will be crystal clear demands coming out of this movement," he said. "But this first phase of the movement is messy and leaderless and demandless."
Do not make the mistake of thinking that this OWS was spontaneous, or unplanned. Maybe Soros did or didn't have anything to do with funding OWS, but do not think for a moment he will not profit off the unrest. See Rule 162.

  1. Ahh, yes. The same old tug 'n pull; we'll see if the results are any different. If it means less looting by our plutocracy (who, if they have any sense, will throw out a few bones to keep the masses fat & happy)then I'm all for it.

  2. The US government dumped a lot of money, equipment, and technical support onto the mujahideen of Afghanistan back in the 1980s -- just look how well that turned out in the long run. These Wall Street bozos weren't smart enough to manage all the unforeseen consequences of their Rube Goldberg financial constructs -- and those were just numbers. Do they seriously think they can manage the unforeseen consequences of engineered mass movements of people, in the tangible world itself? Hari Seldon they ain't. I don't know how it will end either (I'm not a Hari Seldon, either), but I bet it won't end the way the expect it to.

In any relationship, the answer to the question "who's using whom?" can, and often does, change over time. People, moreover, rarely stay bought.

  3. "They're both movements primarily started by the wealthy elite. Adbusters started the OWS..."

Um, adbusters is a non-profit which prints an anti-captialism magazine with a distribution of 120,000...not really anything anyone would ever consider elite...

"Maybe Soros did or didn't have anything to do with funding OWS, but do not think for a moment he will not profit off the unrest."

So? No matter what situation you are talking about, someone profits. I'm sure the store that sold all the tents to the protestors profited as well. We live in a capitalistic society, no matter the event, someone profits.

I'm not sure why you feel the need to demand "purity" of OWS protestors. People are hurting. so what if it was started by adbusters, ..doesn't matter. It's giving some people a voice, what's wrong with that? Will it be co-opted? sure, that's how the "system" works. but that doesn't mean its not important as of now.

Plus, from a magickal take, adbuster's culture-jamming actiities are really nothing more than multiple attempts to establish TAZ's (Bey) which disrupt consumerist ideology. I'd say, so far, this has been a pretty successful magickal endeavor on adbuster's part.

That's exactly my point. There's no so. It's a reminder.

I do not demand purity from anyone. I am attempting to place the phenomenon in the context of global historical currents.

I want magicians to be thinking about what's going on, and how it relates to them.

  5. So on the basis of one article in Reuters, you tie OWS back to "the 1%". The article certainly doesn't make that connection. And in any case, there's a big difference between running some ads and orchestrating this whole weeks-long spectacle.
And maybe George Soros will profit from this, but to paraphrase a line from "Casablanca": "The other side would have paid him more."
And is Kickstarter part of the conspiracy, too? How about Michael Moore? Is everything tainted?
"Of course," you'll say, "everything except Magick." Good thing magicians can dismiss this possible upsurge of activism and focus on "how it relates to them" -- which is, as you noted in your earliest post on the subject, increased profits.

  6. Yes indeed, brother anonymous, you have hit the nail squarely on the proverbial head. You must be psychic. Or observant.

Except for "dismiss." The point is not to dismiss anything, but to process it and observe it as it relates to you. To be engaged and aware as your world is created.

What percent are you in, Magician? That's the post I'm working on next.
